What are they?
Slides are accessible slideshows of Scran images, movies, sounds and text.
They offer a quick way to presen Scran material on a computer screen or as a whiteboard presentation and their format is simple enough for even young children to explore.
A collection of Slides on various topics are available on the site and you can also view your own Scran Albums in this format.
Where do I find them?
You will find ready-made Slides in the navigation menu on the left of the page by selecting Resources then Slides.
Browse through the topics and select the Slides you want to view.
To view an Album as Slides, choose Slides from the View menu at the top of the Stuff window.
How do I use them?
Slides are designed to be easy to use. They have only three controls:
Use the right and left arrows at either side of the image to move forwards and backwards through the slideshow.
You can also use this drop-down menu, found underneath the image, to jump between different slides.
Some slides have video or clip. If so, a media control bar like this one appears below the image. The clip usually plays automatically (it may take a while to load). If not, click the play button on the media control bar.
When you open Scran's ready-made Slides the slideshow opens in its own window. Close the window when you are finished with the Slides by clicking the close window control (found at the top left of the window on Apple Mac computers and at the top right of the window on others).
When viewing an Album as Slides you can use the View menu again to return to the Standard View.
