Step
into medieval Aberdeen is an award-winning school's project where
classes of children at school in and around Aberdeen can come to
do drama, excavation and finds analysis.
During
the morning, pupils go back in time through a 'time tunnel' and
into a medieval house where they enact a drama. They also excavate
an area and record and identify their finds, as well as discussing
how layers build up.
The
archaeological unit who developed and run this project receive letters
from most of the pupils who participate because it is so much fun.
This letter is typical of those received.
