During this CD-Rom you will have been introduced to the Social Documentary film and its uses. In this section you will be invited to think about how you would construct a short documentary sequence using the clips provided.

Think of constructing an opening sequence for a social documentary on the River Clyde. Use the clips provided as a starting point for your inspiration.

Remember the opening sequence of this CD-Rom. It was constructed by editing the images to a  music track and adding a voice-over. The voice-over was paced to match the idyllic tone of the music and visuals. The music was chosen from a CD-Rom of library music. Library music is recorded by musicians and put on CDs by companies offering the music for use in commercial work.

Tasks

  • Try to construct a sequence using a storyboard for ideas.
  • If you have software available, import your chosen clips and construct an opening sequence. 
  • Add the music and voice-over.
