Government Propaganda

During the First World War the use of film as propaganda was developed extensively, by governments on every side.

The frames below are from an example of British propaganda. This newsreel film was made in 1918 during "Tank Bank" week in Aberdeen. To raise funds for the war effort, 'Julian' an army tank is toured round Britain to encourage people to save and lend to the war effort. £2 million was raised in the week.
