Cutting in humpback whale at Provincetown Mass.

The Americans whalers, when working close inshore would tow their whales into port for processing.

In this view the whalers are cutting the blubber from a humpback whale, chopping it into small pieces and then boiling it in open air trypots. The oil is then stored in barrels.
