Hello
there, my name is Tanya, and I am a representative for the Conserve
the Cairngorms Campaign - a campaign which was originally established
to halt the development of the funicular railway.
We
fought long and hard against the original development. We believed
then - as we still believe today - that it is fatally flawed and
there is no economic justification for its existence. So, when I
read in the papers that there are plans for an extension to the
funicular I am filled with despair - it's madness, utter madness
and I endeavour to do everything possible to stop this foolish proposal
in it's tracks.
Both
the original development and this proposed extension is bureaucratic
vandalism at its very worst. Don't these idiotic politicians and
councillors realise what a national - no international - treasure
the Cairngorms are? They are Britain's premier mountain range and
are without equal in the British Isles for their scale, their altitude
and their value as wilderness country.
