No
wonder it's been such a great success and has exceeded all expectations
since its opening. It now averages 60 round trips per day carrying
an average of 80 passengers per trip. What's been even more encouraging
is that nearly 50% of the tickets have been sold to non-skiing visitors.
Doesn't this clearly demonstrate the impact of the funicular as a
major tourist attraction?
The
environmentalists and others opposed to the development claimed
that visitors would stay away in droves, appalled by the treatment
meted out to Cairn Gorm - this doesn't seem to be the case does
it?

Young
and old alike can travel safely to the top of Cairngorm at any time
of year - you don't need to be a skier.
