Glue

Whale's tail

The tail flukes of whales contain a great deal of collagen and were used to manufacture glue, especially in Holland.

The tail was also very tough and was used by the whalers as a chopping board when dividing up the blubber into pieces small enough to pass through the bung-holes of the casks.
