Recording Time and Place
Take a look at the clip below. It would have been shot by someone
outwith the community focused upon and more or likely by someone from
the middle to upper classes. It can be argued that imagery like this
would be used as much for entertainment as for change, with the use of
newsreel in cinema shows.
But there is no clear reason for shooting this film except to record
a time and a place for history. The recording of the image is not what
is in question, it is the use of the image that is important. |
