Also, look at all the fabulous facilities that have been created for tourists - and the brilliant thing is - us locals get to use them too! So when I get up on a Sunday I say to myself - well, what shall I do today? How about a stroll through Rothiemurchus estate where I could follow one of the many marked trails and build up an appetite for Sunday lunch? Or I could cycle along the Spey on one of the many cycle paths in the area and if it's a nice day I could stop for a picnic at a designated picnic site along the way. If I fancy getting away from it all, I could take one of the well maintained footpaths up and over Cairn Gorm to Ben MacDui. What about those days when I'm just not up to being active? Well, I could grab the Sunday papers and while away a few hours sipping cappuccino and catching up with all the news in Café Mambo. Or maybe I could treat myself to some serious pampering at one of the many spas in Aviemore's top hotels. There are just so many fantastic facilities in the area - all thanks to the influx of tourists.

The Rothiemurchus Estate offers walking trails and picnic areas in spectacular scenery.
