We have further concerns about coach tours increasing, with these people then being transported by train to an Interpretation Centre where they are educated about the fragile mountain environment. Just how crazy can you get? Moving large numbers of people onto a fragile mountain to tell them about how important conservation is! The final nail in the coffin is that the tourists are not actually allowed onto the mountain. Some people have dubbed the Interpretation Centre the "Barlinnie of theHighlands" - you are trapped in a building with plenty of opportunity to spend money but can't experience the countryside outside.

Consider this - we have been campaigning since 1998 and have worked with a range of organisations opposed to the funicular. During this time we have received over 11,000 letters of objection compared with the 200 letters of support received - does that sound to you like a resounding vote of confidence for the funicular? No, I didn't think so!
