Do
you know, I've read a lot in the local papers about environmental
groups being against the development but their argument always seems
to focus on wildlife and soil erosion and things like deforestation.
I mean, read this quote from Scottish Natural Heritage ".. to
safeguard the montane landform;promote the development of habitats,
and species communities according to ecological processes..."
I mean what is that all about? These people go on and on about things
that, in my opinion, just aren't important. Surely, what's really
important here is that the area is benefiting economically and new
jobs have been created? OK it's a shame for the wee birds and animals
but that's life isn't it?
Anyway,
most important of all it that it's improved skiing no end don't
you think? Oh that's right, you'd said you'd never been skiing in
the Cairngorms before. Well even if don't know your skid turns from
your snowplough, or your karabines from your crampons, don't worry,
as I'll fill you in on all the Cairngorms has to offer.

Many
businesses in the area rely on the ski industry.
