Oblique aerial view looking west towards the Clatchard Craig Quarry,
Fife Fegion. A Lower Devonian aphyric hypersthene-andesite is being
worked for hard rock aggregates (roadstone).
In the quarry a basal autobrecciated zone up to 4 m. thick was exposed
with green sediment filling the interstices between the blocks.
The sediment is baked with disturbed bedding, this indicates it
was introduced when the lava was still hot and slightly mobile.
The hypersthene-andesite is the same distinctive marker horizon
as the one that crops out at Norman's Law.
