View
of the nothern granite on Arran, with the Waverley in the foreground
Granite is a resistant rock, and more that 60 million years of erosion
has worn down the surrounding rocks much more than the granite,
leaving the granite to stand up to form Goat Fell and the other
peaks in north Arran.
The
Waverley is a famous paddle-steamer that cruises around the Scottish
Islands.
