New architecture records from Simpson & Brown
The award-winning restoration architects firm of Simpson & Brown have recently renovated two outstanding historical houses and have chosen to share the record of their work with Scran.
Blackburn House in West Lothian has a fascinating history, and its former owner George Moncrieff had links to Antigua and the slave trade. Blairtummock House in Glasgow, meanwhile, was for many years a grand merchant house before being used as municipal offices for the City of Glasgow. Both have been restored to their former glory, and photos documenting the process, as well as archival documents and new drawings have been made available to Scran subscribers courtesy of Simpson & Brown.
