Artist John Bellany Dies at Age 71

29th August, 2013

The artist John Bellany died on 28th August 2013.  He studied at Edinburgh College of Art was known for his portraits of the East Lothian fishing community in which he grew up.  He went on to exhibit in many of the world's most prestigious museums, and his works are in the permanent collections of the tate gallery, New York's Metropolitan Museum and the Museum of Modern Art. Scran's Pathfinder Pack about Bellany is here.  You can also see a BBC Culture Show documentary piece from earlier in 2013 about the artist's retrospective in Edinburgh here.
